The US government said Friday it was trying to aid victims of severe Caribbean storms by offering Cuba supplies via relief groups and by releasing funds for Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

(RTTNews) - During New York deals on Friday, US currency strengthened against the Brazilian real. The greenback climbed to a fresh multi-month high of 1.7440 versus the real from early low of 1.6970. As of now, the pair is trading at 1.7210, compared to yesterday's close of 1.7160.
